What is 09G2S steel?
09G2S (09Г2С) is the workhorse low-alloy structural steel of the CIS market, produced to GOST 19281. With a guaranteed yield strength of ≥345 MPa, good weldability and cold resistance, it is used across welded structures, bridges, cranes, railway rolling stock, mining equipment and pipelines operating down to −40 °C. Wherever Russian projects specify 09Г2С, engineers routinely accept an equivalent international grade with matching strength and impact requirements.
Chinese equivalent of 09G2S: Q355D
The direct Chinese equivalent of 09G2S is Q355D per GB/T 1591 — the modern successor of the well-known Q345 series (Q345 was renamed Q355 in the 2018 revision to align with the European S355 class). Q355D matches 09G2S in strength class and weldability, with guaranteed impact toughness at −20 °C. For designs requiring −40 °C impact, we supply the Q355E grade on the same basis.

Stock, certificates and delivery
Q355D is held ex-stock at our Shanghai and Wuhan warehouses and ships within 7 days of payment. Every shipment includes the original mill test certificate (MTC) with heat number, chemistry and mechanical results. For designs requiring −40 °C impact toughness, we keep Q355ME ex-stock — the thermomechanically rolled grade with guaranteed −40 °C impact, measured values on the MTC. See current tonnage and FOB prices on the high-strength steel stock page. Standard sizes cover plates 6–200 mm × 1,500–4,200 mm × 4,000–18,000 mm; non-standard cuts on request. EXW, FOB Shanghai, CFR and CIF terms available.
